Instagram for beauty specialists: how to turn followers into bookings

A thousand followers and an empty Thursday — a common story. How to set up your Instagram profile, highlights and posts so people go from "gorgeous" to "booked".

For a beauty specialist, Instagram is a portfolio, a shop window and often the main source of clients. But many profiles work like a gallery: people look, tap the heart and leave. The difference between a gallery and a source of bookings isn't the follower count — it's how many steps someone needs to get from "gorgeous" to "booked".

Profile: in 3 seconds it should be clear who, where and how to book

Name field. Instagram search looks at it, so besides your name, add what you do and where: "Rasa | Manicure in Vilnius". Your username (@) can stay short.

Bio — three lines:

  1. what you do and what sets you apart ("Natural manicures and nail strengthening");
  2. where ("Žirmūnai, Vilnius · 2 min from the bus stop");
  3. how to book ("Free slots and booking ↓").

Link — one, straight to booking. Not a Linktree with seven buttons, not Facebook. Every extra tap loses people.

Contact buttons — phone and address on a professional account, so people can call or find their way with one tap.

Highlights — your FAQ

New visitors look at these first. Five are enough:

  • Prices — clear, with "from";
  • Work — your best, grouped;
  • Reviews — screenshots shared with clients' permission;
  • How to find us — entrance, parking, door code;
  • Policies — cancellation, lateness, deposits.

Every question your highlights answer is one less message for you and one less hesitant client.

Posts that sell

  • Before/after carousel — first image the result, second the "before", third a close-up detail.
  • Short process video (Reels) — 10–20 seconds is enough. People want to see how you work, not just the result.
  • A caption with an invitation. End every post with one line: "Free slots next week — link in bio". Without an invitation, people admire and keep scrolling.
  • Location. Tag your city or neighbourhood — some people search exactly that way.

Stories — free slots

The simplest and often most effective habit: when a slot opens up, post a story saying "Free tomorrow at 15:00 and 17:30" with a link sticker to your booking page. It reminds followers that they can book, and it helps fill cancelled slots.

Messages: one ready-made reply

Instagram lets you save quick replies. Prepare one with your link:

Hi! You'll find free slots and prices here: [link]. You can book right away — the confirmation comes by email. Any questions, just write!

That way you answer "how much and when are you free?" in 5 seconds instead of five messages.

What not to do

  • Don't buy followers — they don't book, and Instagram shows your posts to real people less often.
  • Don't hide prices behind "DM me" — some people simply won't.
  • Don't show everything — if you do ten services but want more of one, show that one. Your portfolio shapes which clients come to you.

How to know it's working

Ask new clients: "How did you find me?" After a month you'll know whether Instagram brings people or just collects hearts. If few bookings come from it, check the link and bio first, not how often you post.

If you use edapi, put your page link in your Instagram bio — you'll find it on the Home screen ("Copy link"). To send people straight to booking, add "/rezervuoti" to the end of the address.

What to do tomorrow

  1. Fix your name field: name + what you do + where.
  2. Rewrite your bio as three lines: what, where, how to book.
  3. Switch the link to direct booking.
  4. Create at least three highlights: Prices, Work, How to find us.
  5. Save a quick reply with your link.
