Working hours: schedule, exceptions, holidays and horizon

Updated 2026-09-16

1. The schedule — a weekly template in 30-minute slots

Under "Working hours" each specialist has their own weekly template: 7 days, 30-minute slots. A marked slot is time that can be booked; an unmarked one is off. The template repeats every week — it contains no specific dates.

A slot can also be a break: it is visible in the calendar, but clients cannot book into it. Handy for lunch or a regular gap between visits.

A salon-level schedule is optional. If you set one, it only narrows the specialists' times (e.g. the salon is closed on Sundays — no specialist will have free times on Sunday).

A client only sees times where the service plus buffer fits before the end of work — a 60-minute service at 17:30 will not be offered if you work until 18:00.

2. The calendar as a schedule and the "Mark times" mode

The calendar day view shows the same 30-minute slots: taken (bookings), free and closed. On a specific day, times can be closed or opened directly in the calendar — this does not touch the weekly template, only that day changes.

On the phone turn on "Mark times": tap slots one after another (or swipe across several in a row) and changes are saved immediately. Past slots cannot be marked.

In a multi-specialist salon the calendar can be viewed one specialist at a time — fewer columns, bigger slots on the phone.

3. Exceptions: closed day, changed day, holidays

A closed day (public holiday, renovation, illness) — for the whole salon or one specialist. Clients see no free times that day, and existing bookings remain — cancel or reschedule them by hand, the system does not decide for you.

A changed day — when one day you work differently than usual (e.g. only until 14:00 because of the dentist). Close the needed slots in the calendar — that day is saved as an exception, the template does not change.

Holidays — close consecutive days. While you are away, clients book after them; reminders for existing visits go out as usual.

4. Horizon and minimum notice

The horizon is how far ahead clients can book online: from 7 to 60 days (default 60). It is set under "Salon → General"; an individual service can have a shorter one.

Minimum notice is set per service: how many hours before the visit start booking is still allowed (e.g. 2 h — so you have time to prepare). The limits do not apply to manual bookings from the calendar.

5. Time zone and clock changes

The salon time zone (for Lithuania — Europe/Vilnius) is assigned at registration; it can be changed by writing to support@edapi.io. The schedule is stored in local time and bookings in universal time, so after the spring and autumn clock changes visits stay at the same hour you agreed.
